Summary:
Responsible for overall support and maintenance of network architecture, systems analysis, and communications infrastructure.
##### Job Responsibilites:
Approves & modifies network planning, design, optimization & overall architecture to ensure compliance.
Identifies & promotes strategies for network systems solutions using current & emerging technologies. Translates business requirements into network/process designs.
Plays a leadership role in planning & recommending network hardware, system management software and architecture.
Ensures monitoring of network performance & capacity planning is performed in proactive manner, assessing and making recommendations for improvement.
Acts as technical expert with the enterprise's overall systems architecture
Helps to define and promote the establishment and implementation of standards and guidelines that guide the design of technology solutions across enterprise-wide hardware and software applications
Configures and maintains routers, switches, firewalls and remote access for the network systems.
Oversees monitoring of system logs to ensure proper functioning of network and security functions
Evaluates new products, current and emerging technology options to ensure selected solutions are cost effective and produce a recognizable return on investment
Participates in enterprise-wide disaster recovery planning. Ensures the plan is communicated to appropriate personnel.
Actively participates as a project team member for large IT projects to provide a network perspective and ensure standards are followed
Actively contributes to preparation of annual estimate for AFE of networking equipment
Provides and directs assistance for the technical support team as it relates to LAN and WAN
systems.
Performs and guides complex deployment or maintenance procedures as well as repair work on Local Area Networks (LANs), communications, and related hardware and software (e.g., bridges gateways, routers, modems, hubs) within a multiple operating system environment (e.g., Desktop, Server, NOS). This includes NOS configuration and NOS maintenance.
Defines and recommends network security procedures and policies.
Assists security administrators by ensuring firewall logs and other various network security measures which safeguard the integrity of access to enterprise systems and data are effectively monitored
Directs and performs testing and analysis of all elements of the network, including communications devices, lines, modems, protocol converters, switches, hubs, dumb terminals and PCs.
Provides appropriate levels of support for all aligned functions, per the IT Accountability matrix
Plans, coordinates and reviews work assignments, identifies training and development needs and provides resources to meet those needs
Manages performance of staff and addresses issues in a timely manner
Understands and complies with established departmental processes and procedures designed to support internal controls efforts. Identifies and brings to the attention of department management internal controls deficiencies.
##### Successful incumbents will have:
Bachelor's Degree in Math or Computer Science or technical training equivalent and graduate-level coursework
Minimum of Five or more years of network support and systems-level programming
Cisco Certified Engineer preferred
Capable of troubleshooting all aspects of Local Area Network and Data Communications problems
Customer service oriented
Excellent communication and analytical skills
##### Position Scope/Contribution:
The incumbent in this position has expert knowledge of network systems and operations and is able to provide support and maintenance of the network, systems, and communications infrastructure.
Location: Yazoo City
Schedule Type: Full TimeEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
